Kitchen Tools Needed:
Directions
Gather all ingredients. Preheat the oven to 325°F (165°C).
Prepare the Crust:
In a mixing bowl, combine graham cracker crumbs, melted butter, and 3 tablespoons sugar.
Press the mixture firmly onto the bottom of a 9-inch springform pan.
Prepare the Cheesecake Filling:
In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese, 1 cup sugar, and vanilla extract with a hand mixer or stand mixer until smooth.
Add the eggs one at a time, mixing on low speed after each addition until just blended.
Pour the cream cheese mixture over the prepared crust in the springform pan.
Baking:
Place the cheesecake in the preheated oven and bake until the center is almost set, about 45-55 minutes.
The center should jiggle slightly when the pan is gently shaken.
Cool:
Remove the cheesecake from the oven and loosen the cake from the pan rim with a knife.
Allow the cheesecake to cool completely in the springform pan on a wire cooling rack.
Chilling:
Refrigerate:Once the cheesecake has cooled, cover it with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight, to let it set completely.
Serving:
Remove the springform pan rim before serving.
Top with fresh fruit or your favorite topping just before serving.
Recipe Note
Tips for Success:
- Ensure all ingredients, especially the cream cheese and eggs, are at room temperature before starting to make blending easier and achieve a smoother filling.
- Do not overmix the batter after adding the eggs to avoid incorporating too much air, which can cause cracks in the cheesecake.
- Let the cheesecake cool completely before refrigerating to prevent condensation from forming on the top.
Enjoy this classic Philadelphia Cheesecake, perfect for any occasion!
