The recipe requires only 8 ingredients and minimal effort, with no need to chill the dough.

Ingredients
- 1 cup unsalted butter (224 grams), softened
- 2 cups granulated sugar (400 grams)
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 3 1/3 cups all-purpose flour (416 grams)
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups chocolate chips (360 grams), divided into 1 1/2 cups (270 grams) and 1/2 cup (90 grams)

Directions
Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C). Line cookie sheets with parchment paper or silicone baking mats.
In a large bowl, beat the softened butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
Mix in the eggs and vanilla extract until well combined.
On low speed, gradually mix in the flour, baking soda, and salt until just combined.
Stir in 1 1/2 cups (270 grams) of the chocolate chips.
Form dough balls using about 1 to 1 1/2 tablespoons of dough per cookie. Place them 2 inches apart on the lined cookie sheets.
Bake one cookie sheet at a time on the middle rack for 9-11 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
As soon as they come out of the oven, place a few extra chocolate chips from the reserved 1/2 cup (90 grams) on top of each cookie for a visually appealing finish.
Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 10 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
